WEDNESDAY 13

Wednesday 13 is a horror-punk and heavy metal band led by vocalist Joseph Poole, better known as Wednesday 13. Formed in 2004 after his time in the Murderdolls, the band quickly carved out a cult following with their unique mix of punk energy, glam-metal swagger, gothic imagery, and tongue-in-cheek horror themes.
Their debut album, Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead (2005), introduced fans to their campy, horror-movie-inspired world. Follow-ups like Fang Bang (2006) and Skeletons (2008) showed the band’s ability to swing between playful horror anthems and darker, more serious tones. Over the years, Wednesday 13 has continued to grow and evolve, experimenting with heavier sounds and bigger production. Albums such as Calling All Corpses (2011) and The Dixie Dead (2013) cemented their reputation as a band unafraid to mix fun, horror, and heavy riffs.
In 2015, they released Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague, their first concept album, blending horror and sci-fi into an apocalyptic storyline. Later records such as Condolences (2017) and Necrophaze (2019) leaned into a darker gothic-metal direction, while still keeping the tongue-in-cheek personality the band is known for. Most recently, Horrifier (2022) and Mid Death Crisis (2025) have shown Wednesday 13 in top form, heavier than ever but still delivering the hooks and theatrical flair that fans love.
On stage, Wednesday 13 are more than just a band—they are an experience. Known for their spooky costumes, horror props, macabre humour, and high-energy live shows, their concerts feel like a cross between a Halloween party and a rock ’n’ roll nightmare. Theatrical, fun, and heavy, Wednesday 13 shows always give the fans something unforgettable.
In August 2026, Wednesday 13 will headline the Sophie Lancaster Stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival in the UK, joining one of the world’s premier metal festivals. With a 20-year legacy of blending horror and heavy music, their set is expected to be one of the highlights of the weekend—bringing their cult-favourite classics, new anthems, and signature stage show to thousands of fans.
From their horror-punk beginnings to their modern gothic-metal presence, Wednesday 13 has remained true to their vision: celebrating horror, humour, and heavy music in equal measure.
