BODY COUNT

Body Count is a Los Angeles heavy metal band founded in 1990 by vocalist Ice-T and guitarist Ernie C. Conceived as a ferocious collision of street-level storytelling and old-school metal firepower, Body Count took shape with friends from the local scene and quickly earned a reputation for high-impact shows and unflinching social commentary.
The band’s self-titled 1992 debut crashed into the mainstream with snarling guitars, hardcore energy, and outspoken lyrics—bulldozing the walls between scenes and igniting global debate about art, censorship, and free speech. Relentless touring and 90s follow-ups (Born Dead, Violent Demise: The Last Days) cemented their status. After tragedy and regrouping, Murder 4 Hire (2006) marked a turning point, and the 2010s delivered a full resurgence: Manslaughter (2014), Bloodlust (2017), and Carnivore (2020)—the latter earning a Grammy for Best Metal Performance (“Bum Rush”). They doubled down with Merciless (2024), proving the band’s bite is as sharp as ever.
Musically, Body Count thrives where thrash aggression, hardcore stomp, and classic-metal riffcraft meet. Ice-T’s vocal presence fuses grindhouse grit with a reporter’s eye, tackling policing, inequality, violence, and survival. Decades in, they remain a dangerous live band and a vital voice—proof that heavy music can still hit hard, think hard, and matter.
Answering years of fan demand, Body Count are officially set for Bloodstock Open Air 2026 as Special Guests to Judas Priest, bringing their signature, high-impact set to one of the UK’s premier metal stages.
