SELLSWORD

Formed in 2013, Sellsword have shared the stage with bands such as Unleash the Archers, Blaze Bayley, Moonsorrow, and Nanowar of Steel and have undertaken UK tours with Dakesis, Heidevolk, Battle Born and Fellowship.
They have played major festivals such as Power Metal Quest Fest, HRH Vikings, Breaking Bands and Bloodstock Open Air in 2018.
Sellsword's live shows boast an eye-catching set complete with banners and shields, a microphone stand made from a real sword, which cleverly matches the band’s distinctive logo, and even on some occasions, a working trebuchet!
Each live performance, or Siege, is energetic, full of audience participation and above all, a fun experience for band and audience alike.
Sellsword have self-produced two acclaimed albums: ‘...And Now We Ride’ in 2016 and ‘...Unto the Breach’ in 2019.
Both albums concern themes of heroism, siege and death in medieval warfare, highlighting the soaring guitar melodies of James Stephenson and Henry Mahy, the intricate rhythms of Tom Warner and Tom Keeley and the epic vocals of Stuart Perry.
In 2020, Stuart retired from frontman duties and in 2022, after a long search, Nathan Harrison was chosen to become the new voice of Sellsword.
Since then, the band has played numerous shows across the UK and in 2024 released their first single of this new era, ‘Saxon Steel’, an epic battle anthem about triumph over adversity and bravery in the face of overwhelming odds.
It was mixed and mastered by the band’s guitarist James Stephenson and is accompanied by Sellsword’s first ever music video, which makes dramatic use of the striking surroundings of their Yorkshire homeland to depict both the band doing what they do best and an epic medieval battlescene. The track garnered tens of thousands of streams in its first couple of weeks and has already become a firm live favourite with their fans.
With a string of live shows confirmed in 2025, Sellsword plans to release more singles and videos over the coming months and ultimately a third full length album of battle anthems.
