NORTHLANE

Northlane are one of Australia’s most innovative and acclaimed heavy music acts. Formed in Sydney in 2009, the band have built an international reputation for pushing the boundaries of metalcore, seamlessly blending progressive metal, alternative, electronic, and industrial influences into a sound that is uniquely their own.
Their debut album Discoveries (2011) introduced them as rising stars of the Australian heavy scene, while Singularity (2013) propelled them to international recognition, debuting at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Following the departure of original vocalist Adrian Fitipaldes, Marcus Bridge joined the band in 2014. His arrival marked a new era, beginning with Node (2015), which debuted at No. 1 in Australia and won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album.
With Mesmer (2017), Alien (2019), and Obsidian (2022), Northlane pushed their sound into new territory, incorporating atmospheric textures, electronic experimentation, and unflinchingly personal lyricism. Alien and Obsidian both earned critical acclaim, with Obsidian released independently via their own label, Worldeater, debuting at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
In 2024, the band unveiled the Mirror’s Edge EP, featuring collaborations with Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool), further cementing their reputation as fearless innovators unafraid to challenge genre boundaries.
Today, Northlane — Jon Deiley (guitar), Josh Smith (guitar), Nic Pettersen (drums), and Marcus Bridge (vocals) — continue to redefine what heavy music can be. Their ability to evolve while staying true to their core has earned them multiple ARIA and AIR Awards, as well as a devoted worldwide following.
Looking ahead, Northlane are set to bring their explosive live show to one of the world’s most iconic stages: Bloodstock Open Air Festival, August 2026, in Derbyshire, UK.
