SHRIKE

Shrike, are a melodic death/prog/metalcore band from Preston. Residing in the officially labelled "wettest" city in England. Shrike have channelled that inner "grim up north' ness" to create their own bleak brand of metal music. Shrike pride themselves in using a range of ambient, cinematic and orchestral soundscapes to push the envelope on the genre, whilst still retaining homage to the foundations and influences that made metal so appealing to them in the first place.
Each member of Shrike has been active in the music scene for over a decade, and that shared experience really shines through on their latest material ‘The Divine and the Serpentine’. This record was helped with the vocal prowess of Lucas Fletcher (Blanket) and was also mixed by him, with some additional help from Connor Sweeney (Ex - Loathe) They have also been building a fan base, by relentlessly playing live shows up and down the UK. Some of the key support slots have included Evil Scarecrow, Distant and Harbinger.
Receiving high praise reviews from magazines such as Distorted Sound and Power Play, Shrike are set to conquer the underground metal scene with their new record, which incorporates sheer musical dexterity, crushing vocals, relentless blast beats and atmospheric texture, influenced by bands such as Trivium, The Black Dahlia Murder and Revocation, aiding them to take the band to the next level in 2025. They've set out to prove that there is culture and more to the north of England than industrial estates and car boot sales.
“It is an honour to announce that we will be playing this year’s sold out Bloodstock festival alongside the likes of Trivium, Machine Head and Gojira; three of our biggest influences as a band! As patrons of bloodstock from as far back as 2013, and as a milestone we’ve been dreaming of ever since attending our first one as a band, to say we’re over the moon is an understatement! A complete and utter dream come true moment. This will be our biggest and best show to date. So we’ll see you on the EMP stage, in various pits and drunkenly stumbling round the campsites this year! We can’t wait to return home.
