BAD EARTH

It was a nervous time back in 2019 when Stephen Coxon (Vox / Guitar) was informed that his long-time drumming brother, Ren Stefan was quitting the band to return to his homeland. After discussing his options with Ben Burke and Karl Ditcher of Scars of Remembrance notoriety, they both offered to step up and keep the BAD EARTH wheels Rolling. Immediately it was clear that the combination of Pounding “Metal - Core” drums and grooving bass tones gave a new dimension to the BAD EARTH sound.
The name BAD EARTH was adopted when during a problematic rehearsal, buzzing caused disruption in the practice room, and after considerable cable pulling, it was determined that a " bad earth" in the electrical system was the cause, so the name was conceived.
Originally formed as a quintet back in January 2014, BAD EARTH was the brain - child of founding members Stephen Coxon and Ren Stefan, who were looking to explore their musical creativity after a period playing together in a covers band. Based in Denbigh and Wrexham, North Wales, UK, the original line up performed their debut show under the name of “HARD LINES”. Labelled as a Stoner Rock band, they gained strong reviews from their local music scene playing their second gig, opening for US Stoner giants KARMA 2 BURN at Chester LIVE ROOMS. Since then, Bad Earth have gone on to play loads of Festivals including-The Jägermeister Stage at Bloodstock Fest, Sophiefest & Slammerfest - Manchester, HRH Hammerfest-O2 Birmingham, also supporting some well-known bands along the was-Soulfly, Phil Campbell & the Bastard Sons, Breed 77, Black Spiders, Blaze Bailey & Dub War.
BAD EARTH teamed up with Ben Burke (Drums) and Karl Ditcher (Bass) to provide a Rhythm section for a thunderous fast tempo “Rockcore” sound that takes influences from bands such as Motorhead, Clutch, Orange Goblin, Red Fang, and Baroness, delivering a no-nonsense soundtrack to their live shows. The band enjoy a busy schedule, performing at venues across Britain and Eastern Europe, Writing and recording their 2nd album in their newly equipped studio and rehearsal space.
What a final battle to end M2TM North Wales was. The competition has been a tough one and we are so proud and excited to represent North Wales on the New blood stage this year. Bloodstock has been the highlight of our year for the past 5 years and to be a part of such an incredible line-up like this is unbelievable. No other Metal event supports "underground" metal like BOA and to be part of it is an honour."
