Leaving anything of value in your tent at any festival is always a bit of a risky business as unfortunately thefts can occur or your wallet or phone could just fall out of your pocket during some full on moshing. So this year we have introduced the new Bloodstock CLOAKROOM service. We recommend that if you bring anything of value with you then you can now purchase a CLOAKROOM TICKET for added security and peace of mind.
You can store bags, coats and valuables safely in the Bloodstock CLOAKROOM all weekend as its manned 24 hours a day. However, we don’t have the room to offer this service to everyone in attendance so if you want to purchase your ticket in advance to be sure you have use of this facility go to the Bloodstock shop as tickets are on sale now. When you get to the festival you can exchange your ticket from the cloakroom for a wristband so you don’t have the worry about losing the cloakroom ticket. Tickets in advance are £11 for all 3 days or £5 per day if purchased at the festival.

We all have our favourite local drinking hole, So we thought why not bring that local pub feel to your favourite metal festival , and with mead in hand who needs a juke box to pick your favourite metal songs from when you have 3 stages showcasing an awesome array of full on Brutal Metal acts supported by a 10,000 strong hoard of metal heads to sing along with – what a site to behold.
Therefore we are pleased to announce that following an overwhelming response from you all with suggestions on what we should call the Bloodstock festival bar this year we have decided to settle on ‘Bloodstock Arms’. Bloodstock organiser ‘Paul’ has even put brush to canvass with this one and designed an official pub swing sign to be hung outside the main bar – we hope you like it.

FUEL GIRLS TO OPEN FESTIVAL - DOC INSANE EXTREME CIRCUS SHOW - CELESTY ADDED TO LINE UP
With the METAL box solidly checked owing to a fantastic cast of some of the top names in heavy music, BLOODSTOCK are living up to the festival side of the name with the announcement of two acts perfectly matched for what will be the UK’s Metal Festival experience of the Summer. THE FUEL GIRLS are the hottest, craziest and most sought-after group of performers to hit the rock, metal and extreme sports scene. If it’s not their wild fire and whiskey fuelled stage show, it’s their arena show, with a fire spitting buggy, bikes, cars, quads and t-shirt cannons! Having performed all over the world, from Las Vegas to Puerto Rico, THE FUEL GIRLS are now bringing their thrilling roller-coaster of a show to this year’s BLOODSTOCK, to kick of proceedings on the Thursday night
Perhaps not as easy on the eye, but as - if not more - extreme, DOC INSANE will be bringing his controversial live show to the fields of Derbyshire. The spawn of a Hell’s Angel, this maniac rock’n’roller will treat the BLOODSTOCK audience to a performance that will make Jackass look like a Punch and Judy puppet show. Expect fire, nail beds, sledgehammers and hooks in places where they just plain don’t belong.
Of course BLOODSTOCK is also about bringing awesome new music to the UK. The first to bring greats such as NIGHTWISH, WITHIN TEMPTATION and BLIND GUARDIAN to England, BLOODSTOCK has always prided itself on it’s ability to pick out Metal’s future superstars, and this year we’re excited to bring you hotly tipped Finns CELESTY. These Epic-Metallers are a must-see for fans of acts such as Sonata Arctica, Manowar and Rhapsody Of Fire and a welcome addition to the already outstanding BLOODSTOCK line up. Formed in 1998, these Finns have just released new album “Vendetta” via Spinefarm Records. Orchestrated by Kalevi Ollie, better known for his work with the Finnish National Opera, with the Tampere City Orchestra lending their skills as well, the album is a grandiose tour-de-force, and the live show promised to take BLOODSTOCK attendees on a journey through the enchanted kingdoms of Epic Symphonic Power Metal.
Line up so far: AMON AMARTH, APOCALYPTICA, ARCH ENEMY, BATTLELORE, BLIND GUARDIAN, CANDLEMASS, CARCASS, CELESTY, CRADLE OF FILTH, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, ENSLAVED, EQUILIBRIUM, EUROPE, GIRLSCHOOL, GWAR, KATATONIA, KREATOR, MILLION DOLLAR RELOAD, MOONSPELL, MUNICIPAL WASTE, SATYRICON, SAXON, TURISAS, THE HAUNTED, SABATON, EUROPE
Date: 14th, 15th, 16th August 2009-01-26
Location: Catton Hall, Walton on Trent, Derbyshire
The Bloodstock team are delighted to announce that British Metal newcomers BEHOLDER have been added to the main stage bill for Bloodstock Open Air 2009.
Taking their cue from the new album title (‘The Awakening’), Beholder has finally broken the shackles of the tribute tag and will be releasing their debut album on the weekend of Bloodstock. With their live shows being hailed as a metal bombardment, but with its influences drenched in classic rock, the album has taken these elements and twisted them into the unique Beholder sound.
First and foremost Beholder are a live band who play with a hunger and ferocity at every show and this has seen its individual members in support of acts such as BLS, Wildhearts, UFO and The Scorpions. Yet the new harder edged material is a clear indication of the bands commitment to delivering a full on metal assault.
After a number of high profile Shows, and a run of club dates at the end of 2008, the band was signed to Lime Records before they had even finished writing the album in its entirety. Such was the conviction of the band, and the belief of the record company that the album will be released worldwide offering a new standard in True British Heavy Metal. Thus the decision was made to move the band to the main stage.
With Beholders all too obvious connections to Bloodstock, having played previously in 2007, the ties have been strengthened with them commissioning the album artwork from Paul Gregory. Guitarist Martryn Blackwell said “Having your debut album artwork associated with some of the most iconic covers in Rock & Metal is a true honour”.
Beholder will also be releasing a download single “Never Take Us Down” taken from the 2008 (‘Unleash The Hell EP’) which was written following the horrific murder of Sophie Lancaster in 2007. Vocalist Simon Hall commented “Whether you’re a Goth, Punk or Metalhead, the lyrics and song itself, speaks volumes for the beliefs of so many who live their lives in an alternative culture”. The single will be released on May 11th with all proceeds going to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
With their fingers on the pulse of modern metal, but with their boots firmly embedded in the foundations of rock, Beholder will bring the power and offer a full on addition to Bloodstock 2009.
