Tickets will be going on sale from 1st September at this year’s price of £ 85.00; as of 15th December 2008 the ticket prices will be increasing. We have decided as always for our fans loyalty to offer the early bird ticket prices for a limited time, this will give you the chance to get next years tickets at this years prices!!

We will soon be announcing bands for 2009; we cannot give you any clues but can assure you of a bigger and even better line up for 2009!!!!!!!

Bloodstock is the UK’s number1 Metal Festival & we intend to keep true to our word in bringing you the bands you have been requesting as well as UK Exclusives!!

'Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 - Guitar Hero 3 Champion'

Thursday - Free play. You can play Guitar Hero for free on stage between the hours of 12pm and 6pm

Friday - 10am - 6pm : : heats : : See if you truly are a Guitar Hero! Can you score high enough to qualify for Sundays final?

Saturday - 10am - 6pm : : heats : : Your last chance to show off your skills on Guitar Hero 3 and earn a place in the championship.

The highest scoring 25 players from Saturday and Sundays heats will join our 15 regional finalists in a championship for the title 'Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 - Guitar Hero 3 Champion'

Sunday - 10am - 4pm : : The Championship : :

10am - 2pm
Each of the 40 qualifying players will be given one of four time slots in which they have to play.

You are responsible for turning up with enough time to play. We would advise turning up from the start of your slot as playing order will be given on a first come, first served basis.

The time slots are:
Group 1: 10am - 11am
Group 2: 11am - 12pm
Group 3: 12pm - 1pm
Group 4: 1pm - 2pm

The 16 top scoring players from these groups will qualify for the Pro Face Off Challenge.

2pm - 3pm
The Pro Face Off Challenge.
16 players will be paired off and each play one song in a Pro face off. The winner of each pair will play in the semi finals. The song will be chosen at random unless the players agree on one.

3pm - 3.30pm
The Semi Finals
The winning 8 players will be paired off and each play one song in a Pro face off. The winner of each pair will play in The Final. The song will be chosen at random unless the players agree on one.

3.30pm - 4pm
The Final - Highest Score Wins
4 players, only one title! who will be 'Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2008 - Guitar Hero 3 Champion'?
The 4 players will all play one song of their choosing, highest score wins.
In the event of a draw, a random selected pro face off will take place to determine final positions.

1st Prize – Cash Prize of £500.00, 2 weekend tickets to Bloodstock open Air 2009, X Box 360 Premium and Guitar Hero 3 Game / Wireless Guitar .

2nd Prize - X -Box 360 Premium and Guitar Hero 3 Game / Wireless Guitar

3rd Prize - Guitar Hero 3 Game / Wireless Guitar .

4th Prize - Guitar Hero 3 Game / Wireless Guitar .

5th Prize – Guitar Hero Aerosmith Game ( Best overall Score )


Guitar Hero Rules / Term & Conditions

Plays can be purchased on at the festival


Each play Costs £2.50 and allows the player one attempt to gain their best overall score which is then recorded . Alternatively a player can pay £5.00 which will give them one practice go and two attempts to gain their highest score .

There will only be one prize per contestant, the contestant will have to put forward his or her highest score and therefore any other scores obtained will be marked out of the competition and we will then choose a further contestant for the 2nd prize .

Each contestant or player will select their own individual skill within the Guitar Hero game and try to obtain the highest score .

The Guitar Hero track is chosen by the contestant

The Bloodstock Webmaster is the Official Guitar Hero 3 competition adjudicator and will monitor the Guitar Hero 3 Competition from start to finish .

The Bloodstock Team can confirm that BOA 2008 headliners Nightwish and Dimmu Borgir will be bringing FULL PYRO to close their Bloodstock appearances. This marks the first time either band have performed with full pyrotechnics in the UK.

Dimmu Borgir will take the stage at 10pm on Saturday 16th August, with Nightwish going on exactly 24 hours later at 10pm on the Sunday, at the UK’s only outdoor Metal Festival. Other attractions at Bloodstock include fairground rides, a metal market, metal karaoke open until the early hours, guest DJs, Guitar Hero 3 competition and an internet café. Oh, and loads and loads of amazing Metal Bands including Opeth, At The Gates, Iced Earth, Helloween, Moonsorrow and many many more!

Yes, the wonderful wonderful sound of cats screeching, nails being dragged down blackboards and foghorns warning ships of impending disaster will all be heard as the 4 DJs of The Apocalypse return to host Bloodstock's legendary karoake sessions on the Lava Stage in the Guitar Hero 3 Marquee. Each night from around 11.30pm, Death will again be running proceedings ably assisted by Famine, War and Pestilence (just the elements you need at a Festival) as we bring you the cream ready for you to sour with your wailings of distress or tuneful passionate singing as some called it. In 2007 Schlumpy was the face of our karaoke and he's back - bigger and sillier ready to orchestrate the crowd to give his verdict on each and every one of you. So, wailings of distress it is then.

We've timed the karaoke to dovetail with the last note of the last band on the Main Stage to ensure maximum impact. The 4 DJs will be warming up (particularly Death) as you guys wind your way from the Main Arena via booze, bogs or burgers to the wildest manic metal party vibe that Bloodstock is famed for. This really is The Gathering. This is the gig that everyone talks about with the "I was there" grin. So make sure you get your vocal chords lubricated, your stage presence perfected and your lyrics learnt. Of course you can just do what everyone else does and just get your name down, get pissed, get up on stage, wonder what the hell you're doing there and then belt out the track of your choice to adoring thousands who also wonder what the hell you're doing there.....just before they follow you up to do the same.

This year, we've doubled the size of the marquee to make sure we can squeeze you all in and with an increased choice of tracks this year's karaoke is set to blow away previous incarnations. If you are still to Buy your Bloodstock Metal Festival tickets online through the Bloodstock Store, you can right up until the day itself and over the weekend , any tickets purchased on or after Monday 4th August online will Not Be Posted out to your home address, they will need to be collected on the Bloodstock festival gate !!!!

Collecting Pre-Paid Tickets on the Gate :

We will require either proof of Ticket purchase from the Bloodstock store by a printed out e-mail receipt or some form of Identification , which will be either a drivers licence, passport or a utility bill with your name and address on .

As the last day for sending tickets to your postal address is the 4th August, everyone should have their Bloodstock tickets by the 12th August at the very latest and therefore if you have not received your festival tickets by this date then please contact the Bloodstock webmaster at webmaster@bloodstock.uk.com .

We will be sending all the tickets purchased on or after 4th August to the festival by special courier every morning to ensure tickets are ready at the gate for collection and therefore the standard postal Fee of £3.00 will still apply to tickets purchased online to cover courier costs .

To buy mobile tickets for the three day event simply click on one of the Tix Mob banners around the Bloodstock website or log on to the new mobile ticketing website www.tixmob.com and pay for your Bloodstock festival tickets using a credit or debit card. Tickets are delivered direct to your mobile phone at the time and date you specify.

There will also be physical tickets available on the high street at selected HMV record stores and other Bloodstock ticket outlets that can be found on our website in the ticket outlet link .

Please Note : Car parking Passes will rise from £7.00 to £10.00 on the gate and all weekend and day tickets will increase by £10.00 per ticket .

The Bloodstock team are pleased to announce that up and coming London metallers RISE TO REMAIN have been added to the bill for BOA 2008.

Formerly known as Halide, Rise To Remain are a five-piece outfit formed in 2007 who combine influences ranging from Metallica, Lamb Of God, Chimaira, Unearth and Killswitch Engage to forge an aggressive, high-energy take on modern metal. With an impressive list of gigs and some mainstream media coverage already under their belts, Rise To Remain are one to watch.
