We've just about pulled together all the bands for the Bloodstock Unsigned Stage and the Lava Stage - with some competitions nearing completition - (gigs in Kent and Essex this weekend) and a couple of media based comps still to advise, we thought we'd give you a sneak preview of who's been confirmed already. Full press releases to come and slot times/ days/ stages to be advised over the next few days so check back into the website for updates. Lee and I dovetail the sets to ensure that any clash with similar type bands on other stages is kept to a minimum - this maintains higher attendance for each performance - which is what every band and fan want.

So, congratulations to those who have been confirmed, best of luck to those still in the reckoning and please try again in 2009 for all those who missed out in 2008.

Yes indeedie - all those months since September 2007 spent recording, waiting, listening and voting have not been in vain.

Bloodstock's Webmaster - following on from the extraordinary volume of voting his competition generated in 2007 - repeated the formula for this year's Festival and my goodness golly gosh it didn't disappoint. The basic principle was the same - Unsigned Bands from all over the world sent us their music to be voted on via Bloodstock TV on our website
www.bloodstock.uk.com The webmaster established 3 genre driven categories for the votes to be cast under.
The winners from each category were chosen on the following variables :
• Number of Votes Per Band
• Video views per band
• Total Downloads per Band
Each of these winning bands will be awarded a performance slot at Bloodstock - the UK's No1 Metal Festival with the band who generates the most votes of the three winners performing on the Main Stage in front of an expected capacity crowd of up to 10,000 Metal Heads!

Last year's winners Sight of Emptiness blew the roof of the stage and are still being hailed back in Costa Rica as celebrities.

Bloodstock's Webmaster has come out of his darkened room after forgoing the need to eat, sleep and more interesting pastimes as he has slaved through and cross referenced EVERY vote cast in the Metal 2 The Masses competition. What would have taken a mere mortal until the 2012 Olympics to establish, our Virtual Voting Vanquisher has removed all the dodgy ones and at last can publish the results. As there are always more losers than winners, this has been a thankless task (but thanks anyway) and for those of you who feel tired, emotional or aggrieved at the outcome...............there's always 2009.
