Nevermore formed in 1995 in the midst of Seattle’s Grunge movement, but dared to continue their vision at that time for a creative and multi faceted Metal sound. The bands debut self entitled album was produced by Neil Kernon who also produced Queensryche, Judas Priest, Yes, Journey & The Rolling stones. The band have since had several hugely successful albums including , ‘In Memory’ , The Politics of Esctasy and ‘Enemies of Reality’. In 2005 Nevermore released their latest album ‘ The Godless Endeavour’ & vocalist Warren Dane said “ the album has the most rippling guitar work we have ever recorded “ !

The band have toured many European festivals & have been one of the MOST requested bands to play Bloodstock Open Air, so it is with great delight for the band and so many of their UK fans we can finally make this happen.

Bloodstock are very pleased to confirm Finnish metallers’Fintroll’, Greek Metallers ‘Firewind’ & UK favorites ‘Head On’ are the latest additions to be announced for this years AWESOME Bloodstock Open Air Festival !

Finntroll who formed back in 1997 class their musical style as hoe down mixed with folky black metal. Their first album ‘ The Horrors of Midnight’ was a huge success, the bands second album ‘ The Time of The Hunt’ rocketed straight in the finnish album charts. The bands latest album ‘ From The Depths of the Earth’ has been described by the band as “ more crushing & better than ever”. The band have toured & played at many major European festivals and have been a hugely popular band throughtout Europe & more recently on their UK dates with Amon Amarth. The band are a very welcome addition to the Bloodstock Festival and with a slogan of “ So hide your daughters, kegs of rum and men of god, for the trolls from up north are coming to you “ we know they will be a fun & lively addition !

Firewind are the powerful, epic & melodic metal band from Greece that formed back in 2001, led by guitar sensation Gus G ( Ex Arch Enemy ). The band released two albums the first in 2002 entitled ‘Between Heaven & Hell’ their second album in 2003 was entitled ‘Burning Earth’. It was not until their 2005 album ‘Forged by Fire’ that the band really caught the metal community’s eye, their latest album ‘ Allegiance’ which the band class as “traditional heavy metal with more speed, technicality and catchy song writing”. The latest album was mixed at the famed Studio Fredman with the acclaimed Frederick Nordstrom who has worked with Hammerfall, Arch Enemy & Opeth. The album peaked in the Greek album charts at No.10 & spent a further 6 weeks in the top 20. The band have toured many European festivals & have also supported Dragonforce on a four week European Trek !

UK Favourites Head On will be a very welcomed addition to the Thursday night of Bloodstock Open Air & will be the first band to kick the weekend off to a great start! The band formed in 2003 after simply being four friends with a huge passion for Metal, Wrestling & stupidity in general! The band are well known for being one of the most energetic & devastating live acts. The band have been voted previously as Demo of the month by Metal Hammer & have more recently recorded two songs for up & coming movie ‘ Colour Me Kubrick’. The band have toured with the likes of Fozzy, Stuck Mojo & Skid Row in 2005 and have recently landed a record deal. With such a lively band we can assure you all, these guys are the perfect opener to what is going to be the most memorable weekend of Metal in 2007 !!!!

Bloodstock are pleased to confirm one of the most talked about young metal bands to come out of Kent ‘ Kobrakai ‘ are to grace the second stage as this years Bloodstock Open Air Festival. The band who formed in 2003 have already played alongside Towers of London, The Inbreads & The Glitterati and have received great reviews from press and media with Metal Hammer quoting, “ Forward thinking, emotional, hardcore inspired heavy rock with a strong metal edge “.

The bands drummer Jack Slade is the son of ACDC drummer Chris Slade. Chris slade from ACDC who will endeavour to be at this years Bloodstock was quoted as saying regarding KobraKai, “ Great band, Great sound, they are going places”, when asked his thoughts on Bloodstock Open Air chris commented “ Bloodstock is a festival NO metalhead should miss, see you there! “.

Bloodstock are pleased to announce Sabbat & Dark Tranquility as the latest bands to be confirmed for this years Bloodstock Open Air festival.

Dark Tranquility have just released their latest Album entitled “ Fiction”, the bands appearance will be a UK festival Exclusive for 2007. The band began their huge ride to success when they formed in 1989 & were one of the first bands to originate from the famed Gothenburg scene. Dark Tranquillity will be second on the bill on Friday 17th August.

Sabbats appearance at Bloodstock will be another UK festival Excusive, the band who have recently reformed with Martin Walkyier & Andy Sneap will be 3rd on the Bill on Saturday 18th August. Sabbat ended 2006 with a bang supporting Cradle Of Filth on several dates of their UK tour.

Both bands are superb additions in what is turning out to be the most talked about UK Metal festival this year !!!!

In Flames who are to Headline this years Bloodstock Open Air metal festival have been confirmed to be the opening act for Iron Maidens up coming European tour. In Flames will be opening for Iron Maiden on 6th & 17th June 2007 in Germany. In Flames have also just been nominated for a Metal Hammer Golden gods award for “ Best Live Band “ the Metal Hammer awards will be held in London in June.

IN FLAMES was honored with the Swedish "Grammis" award in the "Best Hard Rock" category during a ceremony that was held on January 30 at Hovet in Stockholm. A total of five bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2006. A video clip of IN FLAMES performing the song "Come Clarity" on the Swedish music awards show "Rockbjörnen" on January 11 in Stockholm, Sweden has been posted below courtesy of youtube.com .



The band's lineup for the performance included guitarists Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad, who were both absent from the group's most recent U.S. tour.

Bloodstock are pleased to confirm Legion Of The Damned are to grace the main stage at Bloodstock Open Air on Saturday 18th August 2007.

The band toured the European festival circuit heavily in 2006 playing at Rockhard festival, Summer breeze, Wacken Open Air, as well as touring the Netherlands. In the UK the band have gained a huge following & recently supported Celtic Frost & Kreator on a UK sell out tour. The bands latest album entitled “ Sons of the Jackal” promises to be a must have album for all true Metal Heads for 2007. The bands appearance at Bloodstock Open Air will be their only UK festival show, and Bloodstock know they will be a very welcome addition to a amazing line up !

Bloodstock Open Air and Hellfest have joined forces as two of Europe's biggest independent metal festivals to cross-promote in the U.K. and France.

The festivals are held weeks apart but both aim to attract more fans from across the water.

Hellfest is being held on June 22-24 in Clisson, France and boasts a huge lineup, including KORN, SLAYER, DREAM THEATER, MEGADETH, WITHIN TEMPTATION, BLIND GUARDIAN, EMPEROR, IMMORTAL and many more, while Bloodstock Open Air — which takes place August 16-18 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, England —has its strongest lineup yet this year with IN FLAMES, LACUNA COIL, ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, KORPIKLAANI, DREAM EVIL and more bands to be announced. The festivals will give out thousands of flyers that carry the details of both events, as well as utilizing their web sites for more coverage.

Bloodstock Open Air's weekend tickets are £56 until May 5 when they will rise to £61, while Hellfest tickets are available as packages through Argon Travel.

A Bloodstock spokesperson commented: "We are very pleased to be working in partnership with Hellfest. We are both independent metal festivals and are looking to attract more European fans from across the water to our festivals. We feel it is better to work together to gain as much for the fans as we can."

SHEFFIELD, UK - Fast rising UK band RISE TO ADDICTION will release their debut album 'A New Shade Of Black For The Soul' through Mausoleum Records on 14th May 2007 in the UK and 18th May in the rest of Europe.

The album was recorded at Backstage Studios and The Cell in England during 2006.The tracking was handled by Rise To Addiction while the final mix and production was completed by Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Megadeth).

The cover artwork and sleeve design has been completed by the bands guitarist John Slater.

The band - Leigh Oates (vocals), Steve Wray (guitar), John Slater (guitar), Joel Graham (bass guitar) and Aynsley Dickinson (drums) - have captured a stunning performance on a unique collection of songs, that has been described as a blend of styles that is set to captivate listeners and audiences far and wide. Always willing to push their musical boundaries, Rise To Addiction enlisted the help of avant-garde pianist Mike Garson on one of the songs. Mike, who is known for his work with greats such as David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails, wrote and recorded the piano interlude for the song 'Fessonia'.

Commenting on the recording, vocalist Leigh Oates said that “We’ve really pushed the envelope on this album, it’s been a long time in the making and we’re all beyond proud of the end result."

Speaking about Mike Garson's involvement guitarist John Slater added "I've been a massive fan of Mike's ever since I heard his work on David Bowies' Aladdin Sane and to have him play on this album is just fantastic! I can't wait for you all to hear it!"
