Prizes on offer at the legendary Rock Pub - Scruffys Murphys bar last Friday 16 May included Festival T shirts, caps and for the winner and runner up a pair of tickets each for the Festival itself. Most importantly of all the two lucky axe weilders earned the right to represent Birmingham at the Bloodstock Guitar Hero 3 competition at the Festival this August.
Bloodstock's opening heat produced some extraordinary performances, none more so than from George Boothby with an outstanding score of 599,267 on Dragonforce's "Through the Fire and Flames". He'll be joined in his guitar quest by Andrew Kirby (215,781) as they launch a double assault on behalf of the Midlands to win the coveted title of Bloodstock Guitar Hero 3 Champion 2008. With an X Box 360 Elite, Wireless Guitar, £500 cash and a whole bunch of related goodies from Bloodstock and the makers of Guitar Hero up for grabs for the eventual winner, there was a virtually endless stream of potential players all evening.
