We choose our partners really carefully and our aim is to;
How does it work?
Nope...it's not a "Battle of the Bands" where there's only one winner and the venues reap the rewards of the performers' energy and musicianship for very little financial output. It's a reversal on that. This is an initiative where the talent reclaims the centre stage and there's loads of sustained associated profile to be had... and those hosting the Gigs have to actually invest spondoolies! At one point we'll have up to 120 bands featured on the BOA 2008 site waiting for your online vote Ð all enjoying the mutual association that Metal 2 the Masses will bring.
In simple terms we ask the venue and/ or promoter to buy a M2TM franchise so they can attach the BOA 2008 name to their involvement. Through a series of "slow burn" heat gigs, one all dayer/ weekender or tailored accordingly to suit your venue/area demands, each "partner" will establish 4 bands - by May 28. Each will have downloadable videos voted worldwide for "by the fans for the fans". The vote is online throughout June and on 01 July BOA will announce which bands have won through to play a set at BOA 2008. With all the bands, promoters and venues directing "traffic" to the page via media and various pr methods, the mutual attention will be significant and goes a long way to establishing a basis of both BOA and independent "tours" in the future.
We will list the initial batch of chosen promoter and/ or venue partners alongside their agreed UK area on 22 February 2008. Bands wishing to play can contact these partners directly. There is no shortage of quality bands out there and with only 30 slots up for grabs we won't hesitate to use only the best "hosts" even if that means fewer than 30. Only those promoters/ venues that have the right connections, attitude and understanding of the bands/ fans needs will be embraced by M2TM on behalf of Bloodstock. Any unallocated slots will go back into the BOA pot for our team to allocate accordingly.
BOA will carry links from our promoter/ venue partners so EVERY band featured on those sites will get profile coverage. Each of the 4 nominated bands benefit from an increased and intense coverage throughout June and from July though to the Festival, BOA's marketing department will be hyping and promoting all those who have won their slot.
All generated door fees, food & beverage sales, raffle income, sponsorship for the Metal 2 The Masses event(s) that our Partners organise is their income. We merely charge proportionate set costs for the BOA unsigned stage provision.

The whole concept is initially endorsed and supported...amongst others, by;

with extensive; Editorial, features, interviews, reviews, previews, broadcasts, filming, website coverage, e-fliers, blogs and columns this will be a year round initiative. Additionally all local, regional and national media will be specifically alerted and invited to cover M2TM to maintain Bloodstock's commitment to inclusivity and strength in numbers.
Overall Winner
Once the Festival gates open, attendees will be able to vote via SMS who they think the best Unsigned band was at BOA 2008. This will be open to all unsigned bands that perform at BOA 2008. Details will be available in the programme and on site. An overall winner will be offered an opening Main stage slot at BOA 2009.
We've also received commitment for that band to receive promotional endorsement from * Ed Stone * . With an increasing amount of industry interest, * Metal to the Masses * has had talks with media partners about what support they can offer the "e;overall winner"e;
With the thousands of bands out there and only 30 slots up for grabs to cover the WHOLE of the UK, this package is available on a strictly first come first served basis. All our media partners and the UK press in conjunction with our mailing lists and ticketing outlets will be alerted simultaneously.
